Job Summary
Security Personnel plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive environment for staff, clients, and visitors at our behavioral health facility. This individual will monitor premises, respond to incidents, and assist with de-escalation and support services in alignment with trauma-informed care principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to ensure facility security
- Conduct routine patrols of the interior and exterior grounds
- Respond promptly to security incidents, disturbances, or emergencies
- Enforce facility policies regarding visitor access, contraband, and restricted areas
- Maintain detailed incident reports and logs
- Support evacuation procedures and emergency response protocols
- Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary
- Provide compassionate, respectful interaction with individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges
- Always uphold confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or behavioral health settings preferred
- Valid security license or OPOTA certification (if required by state)
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong observational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
- Familiarity with de-escalation techniques is a plus
- Must pass background check and drug screening

Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
· May require lifting or physical intervention in emergency situations
